Asking Logano about his thoughts on Talladega Superspeedway, a fan remarked that after each race, more drivers are expressing their concerns about speed and safety. Building upon that, Gravel asked Logano, “I don’t understand how car owners support or want to race at superspeedways. Like it’s just crazy to me how much torn-up shit there is at every single Super Speedway race. So give us the real feedback because you’re living in it.”
The Team Penske star said in agreement, “Nobody wants to, nobody likes it. I’m 100 percent honest, there’s not a competitor on the racetrack I don’t believe unless it’s somebody that can’t win any other race tried super Speedways, is kind of the great equalizer.”
He said that he definitely enjoyed it and loved the craft because one has to learn to be good at it. Comparing it to a game of chess he said that it was interesting how one has to learn to be good at it and know the competitors and think of their every move. Remembering an earlier time when Joe Gibbs Racing went for it with their four cars lined up and committed to each other as a team, he said, “they smoked everybody by being great teammates. That was the beginning of the end of Speedway racing in my opinion.”

Logano is among the younger stars to achieve the kind of success he has in the Cup Series. He thinks it was the JGR tactics that led to him getting good at the speedways. He realized that they have to work together as a team and learn more things while refining all that he knew. And all that brainstorming and learning was what made him good at Super Speedways.
He shared that mostly following someone and not pressing for the lead position is not ideal, despite every driver wanting to get to the checkered flag first. Additionally, with all the car modifications and more power, it seems a bit dangerous to do so.
