Ty Gibbs will likely be thrilled to know that there is a new contender for the most disliked Xfinity Series driver. That person is none other than JR Motorsports driver Noah Gragson. As it turned out, he and Sage Karam got involved in a bit of a scrap at Road America earlier today. Later on, the #9 driver decided to retaliate against the part-time IndyCar driver.
THE BIG ONE AT ROAD AMERICA!

After some contact, Gragson veered into the #45 car and triggered a massive wreck. It wasn’t even an accidental collision, as cameras clearly showed him turning into Karam’s car on the straight. Meanwhile, many of the innocent cars behind him could not avoid the wrecking duo. Only a handful of cars got past safely through the dust while smoke clouded everyone’s vision.
Naturally, many fans were furious with the #9 driver over that stunt. Many dubbed it a ‘bonehead move’ and that he should have been ‘parked’.

You’re right.
I’ve been at that track when that exact scenario happened. It was ugly. Gragson should be parked.— Kevin T Williams (@WilliamsKevinT) July 2, 2022
Cmon @NoahGragson that was a Ty Gibbs type move… you’re better than that.

And it’s this shit as to why Noah has the reputation he does.

Think NASCAR should suspend Gragson after that intentional hit and spin on Karum. It was right before the concrete support for the bridge. That could have been deadly.

This is a suspension. Seriously. Thats as intentional as it gets. At a track without full SAFER barrier protection
— BigJim__11 (@BigJim__11) July 2, 2022
The general consensus was that the driver should earn a suspension. They also noted that the accident took place just before the pack reached a concrete bridge. In other words, it could have been so much worse.
What else did the fans say about Noah Gragson?
What made the fans even more furious was his response to the situation. Gragson said, “He forgot the three times he would throw it off in the corner and door us and run us off the race track. Eventually, we got sick and tired of it. I hate that people’s stuff got torn up but three times is a bit ridiculous.”
"He starts it, I'm the one who finished."

“I take responsibility, I hate it for his guys but we’re fighting to race for a championship this year. So I’m really over getting run over. It’s over to me, he starts it, I’m the one to finish.”

Fans beseeched that Gragson should have been above getting petty revenge. After all, his intentional wreck had consequences, where poor old Brandon Brown got the worst of it.
How is @NoahGragson still on track @NASCAR ?
— The Wide World Of Motorsports (@THEWWOMS) July 2, 2022
@NASCAR you HAVE to park Gragson for a few races, this guy makes your brand look really bad
Shame on him

On the bright side, a hero was born from this incident, and his name is Myatt Snider.
After Brown gingerly got out of his car and took a while to collect himself, Snider went to check on him. Seeing the #31 driver’s selfless act, many people quickly became fans of his.
