Behind every successful man, there is a stronger woman. Amy Earnhardt wears many hats–interior designer, social media influencer, entrepreneur, super mom, and a loving wife. She has certainly made a mark on NASCAR fans for being a great pillar of support for her husband Dale Earnhardt Jr. But interestingly, the couple went the same roller coaster feeling that any typical relationship experiences. Amy has been pretty open about how hard it is to live in the same house with the quirky habits of an athlete like Junior.
Recently, she spilled the beans about how she has come to terms with it and how DJR has tried to find a middle ground on his side after living through the party lifestyle.
Work Hard and Party Harder

Today it might seem to imagine a father of two and a family man, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. was living his life on the edge in his younger days. But his wife had an interesting outtake to share with veteran Kenny Wallace. She revealed, “Honestly, I partied harder when I first met Dale that I did in college and that is no joke. Look party in college you went to sleep when the bars closed you went you passed out. So like one or two in the morning was basically the latest you’re gonna stay up. Dale would stay out watch the sunrise and then just keep digging. I’m like WOW. This is epic and I don’t know how you live like this and he’s just like a natural pirate. He really is.”
Now, while most fans may know Earnhardt Jr. and Amy met in 2009 when he hired her interior firm to work on his house, some don’t know that Amy was also going to college at the University of Kentucky. As with young adults going to university, Amy partied her share. Dale Jr. had similar plans during the week at the time. While he was racing during the weekends, he usually partied during the week on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. While Amy admitted recently she can’t stand partying, her husband’s habits during the time were even more extreme than hers, and it wasn’t the partying.
“He was completely nocturnal by choice. He played video games, raced or did all that in the middle of the night and then slept as much as he could during the day…um…so yeah that was kind of a pattern for him, made partying all night a little bit easier I guess,” she added. Now, Dale Jr.’s love for video games is no secret at all. Junior loves video games, and playing them. He’s made some really good friends. Back in the early 2000s, when Martin Truex Jr. had just broken into NASCAR, he was sharing a house with Dale Jr. As it turned out, both of them had a love for video games, with many nights spent together playing them.
Dale Jr. once revealed, “I bought four identical computers, and a year goes down the road; all that crap is obsolete. Four brand-new computers come back in the house; we’re in there upgrading, updating, installing; everybody’s got a wheel. I mean, we had it set up. We had a lot of fun; we raced all night long, slept all day, ate junk, drank beer, and he drank Captain; that’s his drink; he’s a Captain Morgan guy.”

His wife was relieved by the man Earnhardt had transformed into in their relationship and broken free of his old habits. Responsibilities seem to change even the toughest nuts going by the looks of the evolution of DJR. But now Junior might have a new reason altogether to stay up all night from all the excitement.
Back in Daytona business

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is returning to his old hunting ground, the Daytona Speedway, but this time in the capacity of team owner for the Cup Series. Bringing JRM to the Cup Series was something he was long in the hunt for. However, there are a lot of costs and planning required to do so. Now, JR Motorsports has found the outside backing of 10-time Grammy winner Chris Stapleton who earlier was in touch with its current stakeholder Mr. Rick Hendrick.

Speaking about the opportunity, Junior said, “I personally hope that this is the start of more opportunities for us to compete at the Cup level. Should it be in a situation where it’s very challenging, it would only motivate us to continue to go back and…When we don’t entirely succeed at something, we retool and try again.”
Earnhardt’s team has a reputation for backing rising superstars and bringing outside faces to NASCAR. This time they are placing their bets on their Xfinity Series driver Justin Allgaier who had previously raced for Hendrick Motorsports in the previous season. It would be interesting to see him go against his former team which holds a stake in his current team to replicate the feats of his current owner.
