Back in 2012, there was a hilarious incident involving Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr at the Daytona 500. Around that time, Juan Pablo Montoya brought out a red flag for colliding with a safety truck. With no racing on, Keselowski decided to take a break to relieve himself, and Dale Jr had the same idea.

Obviously, the Penske driver went at a sedate pace, but Earnhardt Jr broke into a run. When Keselowski saw his rival pass him, he also began to sprint. All in all, it looked like they were re-creating the famous ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’ climax scene.

Dale Jr won that foot race, but would immediately regret his decision to run. He confessed that he was so exhausted that he almost threw up in the lavatory. He realized too late that the portajohn was not the best place to catch his breath, due to the pungent odors.

What happened to Dale Earnhardt Jr and Brad Keselowski during the race?

Of course, poor old Keselowski was made to wait until his rival finished his business. In the end, Matt Kenseth won the actual race for Roush Fenway Racing, with Dale Jr finishing 2nd and Greg Biffle in 3rd. Meanwhile, Keselowski got caught up in a wreck late in the race that ruined his run. As it turned out, Jamie McMurray and Kasey Kahne collided and triggered a multi-car pile-up. Also in the wreck were Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart, Aric Almirola, and Regan Smith.

Keselowski would later redeem himself with the 2012 Cup Series title under his belt. To achieve this, he racked up a grand total of five wins, and kept himself ahead, just enough to seal the title. However, a Daytona 500 win continues to elude him to this day. So the big question is, will the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing team be his ticket to Victory Lane?
