NASCAR Truck driver Hailie Deegan will enter her second season in the sport. In her debut season, Deegan managed to score career-best 7th place at Gateway International Raceway. Now, the David Gilliland Racing driver will be keen to build on her performance and continue improving. She became the first woman in NASCAR Truck Series to achieve a top-10 finish, not including Daytona International Speedway (and fourth overall).

Recently, she spoke about how she has tackled aspects of her life, like social media and sponsors. Deegan said, “I feel like, something I’ve really focused on, is social media and being able to market myself. That came very natural, because of the household that I grew up in, with my father [Brian Deegan]. Really being very good at that, so that was just something that was normal to me.”

Hailie Deegan declared that she loved social media and making content. In addition to that, the #1 driver enjoyed showing people her journey through her life. However, it is worth mentioning that it is synonymous with racing. Furthermore, Deegan has more than 3 million followers on TikTok, 1 million on Instagram, 126K followers on Twitter and 400K subscribers to her YouTube channel.

What else did Hailie Deegan say about her career?

Social media also makes things a lot easier for the sponsors. Speaking of which, Deegan spoke about whether she faces any pressure on the track to perform. According to her, there is a little pressure, mostly because she has a large fanbase. The 20-year-old said that every social media platform has its own demographic. Owing to all of this, there is always a bit of pressure on her, because fans and sponsors expect her to perform. So, everything goes hand-in-hand.

Now, Deegan is gearing up for the 2022 Truck season and will be eager to get going. Now the big question is, where can she and the David Gilliland Racing team go from here? The most obvious answer is that she can help the team develop even further, and hopefully earn more Top 10 finishes. Who knows, maybe she can go where few women racers have gone before and bag a maiden win.
