He recently shared a video through his Instagram. In the video, Johnson was seen pulling the leg of his former Hendrick Motorsports teammate and friend, Jeff Gordon. The video was shot on the grid, just ahead of the Rolex 24-hour event.

During the clip, Johnson said, “Alright, I am here at the grid. At Rolex 24. Not in a car that I raced in the past… But I get to drive this amazing vehicle. Such a piece of history. Thank you, Mr. Hendrick. Sorry Jeff I get to be the super sub. This will be a fun day.”

The Rolex 24 is just a start for Johnson. It would most likely help him adapt to the treacherous 24-hour race that is about to head his way. Hopefully, this allows him to have some fun, as well as prepare himself as HMS’s 24 Hours of Le Mans entry.

Johnson’s versatility as a driver continues to be showcased as he gears up for a place in this year’s Le Mans event. At the Daytona International Speedway, prior to the IMSA Rolex 24, Johnson was announced as one of the drivers for Garage 56 in the highly regarded 24-hour endurance race. Johnson, who spent 18 seasons with the team and won 7 Cup titles before retiring in 2020, has played a crucial role in the development of the project.

In addition to his racing endeavors, Johnson is also a co-owner of the NASCAR team Legacy Motor Club, which is backed by racing legend Richard Petty. Johnson will also be racing part-time in NASCAR with Legacy Motor Club. He has made it clear that competing in Le Mans is a goal he is eager to achieve.
