Coming off a dismal performance in his Truck Series opener at Daytona in Fresh From Florida 250, trouble has found the 23-year-old grandson of Richard Petty on again. Despite starting 10th in his first-ever full-time Truck Series campaign at Daytona, Thad Moffitt could only manage a 36th-place finish, dropping 26 spots over the course of that race, finishing well behind the race winner, Nick Sanchez.

Trying to put that in the past, Thad Moffitt entered Atlanta in high spirits, despite starting from P28. However, as it turns out, the youngster needs to do more homework as he wrecked out of the race owing to an early tangle while being a little ambitious. Failing awfully, he gets spun around and gets some contact with Layne Riggs and Jake Garcia, bringing out the yellow flag.

As for Jack Wood, the 23-year-old racing sensation of McAnally-Hilgemann Racing lost his way in the 59th lap of the race, spinning from the 18th spot, bringing out another caution. The #91 Chevy driver, despite his strong start from P4, couldn’t find his form and ended his day on a sour note, wrecking out of the race as his truck received damages.

This is a developing story.
