After everything that happened at the Clash at the Coliseum, Joey Logano shoving Kyle Busch’s car got all the attention after the race. However, Ross Chastain too had hit Denny Hamlin during the race. This led Dale Earnhardt Jr to compare himself with Hamlin and Chastain, and the side he took is rather surprising.
Joey Logano has gotten flak left, right, and center ever since he wrecked Kyle Busch at the Coliseum. And the defending champion owned up to it by admitting he’s two-faced. He is pretty open about his approach to competitive racing, and it has brought him plenty of wins. However, this is quite a stark contrast from someone like Denny Hamlin, who really isn’t that aggressive on the track.
Talking about the upcoming Daytona 500, Dale Jr compared Hamlin and Logano’s driving styles, “A block to Denny is probably something very aggressive that we would commonly see from Logano.

He further added, “[Denny’s] gonna pull down in front of somebody. And I think Denny’s a one-move guy in terms of when he chooses which way he’s gonna go. That’s his choice. He’s not gonna move back and forth.”
Of course, he then compared it with the 2022 Champion, “While Logano, he might make six or seven blocks down the back, straight away.”
Dale Earnhardt Jr admits he’s quite similar to Hamlin
Junior very bluntly said, “[It’s] terribly freaking dangerous to try to pull down. ‘Ah damn, I pulled down to block the bottom, but the top’s, the one I should have pulled up. I’m gonna pull up front of them.’ That’s when the wrecks happened.”
Yet, that isn’t an issue to Logano, as the Hall of Famer explained, “But that’s what Joey’s willing to do. Joey’s willing to be wrecked.”
Earnhardt Jr doesn’t find himself siding with team Logano though, “But Danny and me … I think Danny and I are pretty similar. You come out the corner and you hit and you get one choice. Right! Which is gonna be we’re gonna block this guy. And I’ll block that guy.”

Judging from their driving styles, it’s safe to say that Junior and Hamlin have some similarities. And he sure isn’t wrong about Logano’s way of handling the car either. But can one approach be adjudged to be better than the other?
