Kyle Busch is one of the greatest drivers of his generation. His performances speak for the outrageous talent he possesses. A two-time Cup Series champion and winner of the 2009 Xfinity Series, Busch has probably got nothing more to prove in this sport. Throughout his illustrious Cup Series career, he has earned fans and haters. But that hasn’t stopped him from doing what he does best—win.

However, in recent times, the #8 driver for Richard Childress Racing has struggled to get a win on board and, as a result, faces an uncertain future in the playoffs. NASCAR analyst “Professor” of the Dirty Mo Dough fame took this chance to highlight his form of late and threw some shade at Busch, which has upset a former Hendrick Motorsports legend.

Dale Earnhardt Jr‘s media venture’s podcast specializing in betting, “Dirty Mo Dough,” features the former Hendrick Motorsports crew chief and NBC analyst Steve Letarte, where he discusses the most decisive factors for each race. His partners on the show, The Professor and Chopper, present their insightful takes similarly, adding more details to the conversation.

In the latest episode of the talk show, one of the talking points is Kyle Busch and his recent struggles in the Cup. While Busch has proved doubters wrong time and time again, it is only natural for people to point out a slump from him. Well, with great skill comes great responsibility. Shifting his attention to Rowdy’s case, Letarte expressed unhappiness over his co-host’s disrespect toward the 38-year-old.

“You’re going to put Kyle Busch third tier again … The man’s won at Bristol eight times. Not eight Xfinity wins. Not eight Truck wins. Not ARCA East, ARCA South, ARCA West, ARCA North. Not a birdie on the last hole at the old farm. We’re talking Cup races. At Cup races, at Bristol, he’s won eight. Yet the professor is going to make him a tier-three driver. This has got to be good. Go ahead.”

Professor replied with an astounding statistic that shows Kyle’s dominance at the venue that is up next on the playoff schedule, “My man’s won there 22 times in the top three series.”

Letarte gets a bit impatient about a statement that takes him by surprise as he forced the reason from Prof, saying, “Tell me why, no bulls**t. Tell me why.” From the looks of it, the Hendrick Motorsports icon is a big fan of Kyle Busch and realistically, not many can deny his talent behind the steering wheel either.

The Professor is known for his incredible knowledge in the department of statistics. He uses the same to strengthen his claim about a possible slump for Kyle Busch and even more so because of his recent track record at the short track.

“21st or worse in the last two Bristol races.” started off Prof. “Nothing mentioned today takes into account dirt. He finished 21st or worse in the last two Bristol races, then he’s finished outside the top 10 in four of the last 5 short track races. Then do we have to get into how bad he’s been lately?”

Letarte ignites a bit of hope in himself, reiterating his confidence in Busch’s abilities. “This is the bounce back day,” he claimed. Professor then adds that despite his claims, he also believes that Busch as bad either, but when compared to the lofty standards he has set, it might not be up to the mark.

“I won’t say he’s been bad but he just hasn’t been ‘Kyle Busch worthy’.”

Letarte then gives up on arguing with him, as he prays for a redemption from Busch at Bristol, one of his most successful tracks where he has dominated throughout his career and across different tourneys as well. Finishing the argument, he concluded, “Alright, you got him into tier three. God knows. I hope he listens. Kyle if you’re listening, don’t put up with that. Kyle, the professor says you’re tier three. 22 wins at Bristol, 8 in Cup, please prove the man wrong.”
