The second race of the season, the Ambetter Health 400 went down in history as a blockbuster event, enthralling the masses with a perfect photo finish at the end. The 260-lap feature across the one-and-a-half-mile track had all the elements for a weekend thriller. There was lots of drama, the biggest pile-up in the long history of the track, intense racing, and an unexpected 3-wide finish that had the crowd on their toes for a nail-biting finish. However, for some, that did not cut it.
In popular NASCAR journalist, Jeff Gluck’s “X” poll that asked the community, “Was Atlanta a good race?” around 5% voted no. While some confirmed that they did that by mistake, others blatantly called it a wreck fest, thus sparking a fiery debate that stretched the comment section.

The 1.54 miles of Atlanta Motor Speedway is one of the most technical tracks on the NASCAR schedule. The aging track when the surface is cold acts like a typical speedway, fast and flowing. However, once the dust settles in and the rubber starts sticking to the asphalt once the surface heats up, the track gradually changes its character.
Only a seasoned driver can identify this aspect and adapt accordingly. And now, with the curtains fallen on the schedule’s second points race, the attention has shifted to Jeff Gluck’s poll.
This sparked a ferocity in the comment section with ardent NASCAR fans bashing the naysayers, tearing apart their wreck fest narrative into bits and pieces.
Many haters cited the organization’s poor race management and mentioned the numerous cautions and wrecks that happened over the 260 laps of action. Some even denounced the perfect 3-wide finish at the end when Daniel Suarez trumped two of the most talented drivers of his generation, snapping his winless streak in the most thrilling fashion.

The event was more like a movie for many with plenty of drama, action, and a last-minute twist. Daniel Suarez hoped but wasn’t certain he was the winner after the closest finish ever at Atlanta Motor Speedway. But after NASCAR’s review came in, the Trackhouse Racing driver was crowned the winner, beating two of the best drivers, edging them out in the final lap by the edge of his teeth.
