Take a good look at today’s NASCAR roster, and one thing is pretty evident. While the level of competitiveness and the entree of skillful talents pop out in prominence, one cannot ignore the fact that most of today’s racers have nurtured their passion for the sport from a very young age. Be it NASCAR’s most popular driver, Chase Elliott, or his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Kyle Larson, both got into the fast lane young, and that has tremendously improved their game.

Following in the footsteps of the greats is another young and aspiring racer by the name of Corey Day. The NARC & Gold Cup race champion is preparing for a giant leap into Larson’s promotion, High Limit Racing. But for that, first he needs to finish high school. The 18-year-old Sprint car sensation recently opened up, sharing his thoughts about landing a shot in the promotion.

In recent news, Kyle Larson-Brad Sweet-patterned High Limit Racing revealed the 9 new “high rollers” for the upcoming 2024 season. This includes co-owner Brad Sweet, former NASCAR veteran Kasey Kahne, and NARC champ Corey Day, along with 6 others. The 18-year-old California phenom will be competing at the national level as he looks to make it big in the newly acquired promotion.

He will be at the helm of the #14 Jason Meyers Racing car. Known for his consistent performance that propelled him into the limelight by winning the championship, Day will have to complete his senior year of high school before he tries his luck in the promotion. Speaking to Speed Sport, the youngster got real about his situation.

He said, So High Limit (Racing) is the schedule, works a little bit better for me, I still got to finish my senior at high school this year and then really race much April that will kind of get me time to be all myself done and you know my first year on tour. Further, he added, saying how the big step up is in line with his ambitions.

I didn’t really want to be doing you know 90 races, that’s a lot, that’s a big commitment so High Limit is a little less and Brad (Sweet) and Kyle(Larson) are racers and you know they’re hustling it, they care about the racers that you know run the whole thing so really excited to do that and we’ll see how it goes. It was a great year,” said the 18-year-old, crediting Kyle Larson and his partner Sweet for the opportunity.
