Rick Ware Racing has announced that Riley Herbst will be running a partial Cup Series schedule, driving their No.15 Ford for the 2024 season. Herbst will be taking on his Cup Series duties, starting with the season opener. With this announcement, the 24-year-old will be making his fifth start in the Cup Series.

He will be sponsored by Monster Energy in ‘The Great American Race’. Herbst will be partnering alongside Justin Haley, who will pilot RWR’s No.51. The young driver will also run in his fifth NASCAR Xfinity Series and will be back for his fourth season with Stewart-Haas-Racing piloting their No.98 Ford car.

Running a full-time schedule with SHR in the Xfinity Series, Herbst was unable to make it to the playoffs. The only silver lining from his past season was his win at Las Vegas Motors Speedway that came during the Round of 8 playoff tie. Fortunately for him, the young driver will have enough opportunities to prove his potential as a race car driver in the 2024 NASCAR season, starting at the Daytona International Speedway.

Expressing his delight, Herbst, in a press release, said, “I’ve grown a lot as a race car driver, especially this past year. I put in the work and try to maximize every opportunity, and I feel like last year that hard work and determination paid off. We were really strong at the end of the year. We never finished lower than fourth in our last five Xfinity Series races. I didn’t want the season to end. I’ve kind of been chomping at the bit to get this year started, so to be able to get back to Daytona and run the 500 is something I’m definitely looking forward to.”

RWR has not yet announced the details for Herbst’s additional race schedule for the season. However, this announcement means that the 24-year-old will be sharing the No.15 with RWR’s full-time driver Kaz Grala. The team roped Grala for 25 Cup Series races, which also includes the weekend’s Busch Light Clash at the LA Coliseum.

It’s not just Riley Herbst who is eager for the Daytona Clash. RWR’s owner Rick Ware himself is stoked to have Herbst and Monster back on board.

Starting at #38 and finishing the race at #10, Riley Herbst stamped his mark on last year’s Daytona 500 race. Notably, he was racing under Rick Ware Racing, piloting the No.15 Ford. Continuing his momentum from last season’s Xfinity Series race, similar results are now expected from the young driver after his return to RWR for the 2024 Cup Series.

Rick Ware in a press release said, “Riley continues to impress as a driver. He showcased what we could do together by securing a top-10 in his first Cup Series start in last year’s Daytona 500, so we look forward to using that as our benchmark when we return to do it again in a few weeks. Additionally, to partner with a global brand like Monster Energy is something I take very seriously for RWR as a company. Monster’s commitment to motorsports is something I respect and value, and I’m proud to have the opportunity to work together with Riley and the Monster brand throughout 2024.”
