RFK Racing certainly knows how to make progressive moves be it on the NASCAR tracks or social media presence. The Brad Keselowski co-owned team has made a reputation for themselves as being the best team to engage with their community and supporters online. This was once again on show when RFK Racing recently initiated an anticipation game amongst the racing community online.
The team announced that it was going to drop the team designs for the 2024 season. However, they added a twist to it as they were going to drop the designs one by one from 22nd January. Going by the track record, they did put out some cool-looking cars for the first four days and interestingly this drew NBA legend Lebron James in action. The stakeholder in RFK Racing was a little late to the party but still wanted a piece of it.

RFK Racing has a good list of sponsors and partners for the 2024 NASCAR season. This means that each one of them would be featured on their cars with unique designs and paint schemes. Starting from the 22nd of January, they had lined up all the car schemes along with their sponsors but with one reveal per day, it kept the fans wanting more and so the trend kept on gaining traction. Today they dished out their fourth reveal.
This day-by-day unveiling sure made for a good engagement session which even saw basketball legend Lebron James join the trend. Taking to his X account, he tweeted, “Can’t wait to see what’s cooking!!! @RFKracing 👀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👑.” RFK Racing got all the attention they needed online and thus showed the other teams how to ace the social media game.
The first one on the list was Brad Keselowski and Chris Buscher’s sponsor Build Submarines and the designs came out as anticipated, fresh and eye-pleasing. On the 23rd they unveiled the schemes by Fifth Third Bank. The guesswork also came into play for the third sponsor scheme as it was left blank until the date arrived. It was later revealed the mystery sponsor was Consumer Cellular. Just a few hours back, the team went on to reveal the paint schemes with King’s Hawaiian, with only Soloman Plumbing schemes left to be delivered.

The Lakers star is a minority owner in Fenway Sports Group which is the parent company for RFK Racing. Since technically he is a stakeholder, it should not come as a surprise to see him engaging with the NASCAR team. But this connection didn’t click instantly for many netizens which led to some interesting responses in the comments section.
The first fan was amongst the many who forgot Lebron James’ association with RFK Racing. He posted, “I always forget Lebron is technically a part of RFK😂”.
Another fan who took notice of how the NBA star was late in reacting to the post put out by RFK Racing, wrote, “Good Morning NASCAR team owner* LeBron James”.
Another fan was not expecting the Lakers star to tweet about a NASCAR Cup team, “Did not have Lebron tweeting about a @NASCAR cup team on my 2024 Bingo card! Cool to see though the cross sports support!”.
