The stage was all set for the Michigan International Speedway. And, in the pre-race presser, Bubba Wallace was asked about his confidence level on Michigan and the other two remaining racetracks, considering he holds an impressive record on these venues. He was also asked if he has the Mojo thing for these races. The ever-so-lighthearted Bubba Wallace answered the questions in the same spirit. Revealing that he has a secret weapon of sorts to perform well in the last few races.

“Yeah, for sure. I mean, the last five races I had the top three average finishes, so definitely the Mojo is there.” Wallace exclaimed in a pre-race presser in Michigan. Returning back to the same sportsperson spirit in which the question was asked. He displayed just how fine-spirited he is in another related incident on the same occasion as well.

When another journalist asked a related question, Wallace revealed, “It’s a great day. It’s a good start to the day. Sorry, I overslept a bit to catch up on the baby sleep. Pre-baby sleep!” We now know the secret to Wallace’s high spirits—it’s the pre-baby sleep!

Candid talks aside, Bubba Wallace is also determined to leave his mark in the remaining races in the regular season. Wallace is in tight contention to secure a position in the playoffs. Either a win or three solid performances from the 30-year-old can keep his hope alive to win the ultimate prize of the sport.

Talking about the excitement around the venues of the upcoming races, Wallace said, “It is nice to know there’s three good tracks coming up. So that only helps the vibe; it only helps the momentum for us, but it does not slow up the work process. The workload just gets heavier for us, and we have enough great people on this team to dig all through it and try to conquer it.”

The 30-year-old looks all pumped up and ready for a solid performance at the Michigan International Speedway. Talking about his 2022 near-win experiences, Wallace further added, “I remember that day vividly. I remember the car and how it drove the temperature outside. Everything about it. And so, hoping to replicate that. That would be awesome. One spot better, know what I did on the final restart to give the race. We’ve always circled this place to be the one where we want to show up and dominate. Last year we did not do that. Two years ago, we were close. So, it’s time to reset the downs and go do it again today and tomorrow.”

  • The Daytona International Speedway is probably up for grabs for the 30-year-old this year. His record at NASCAR’s crown jewels is impressive. Wallace has been the runner-up of the 2018 edition of the race. He has also secured multiple top-5 finishes, and his average finish at the venue stands at a convincing 9.9. To give these statistics into perspective, Denny Hamlin, one of the most successful Cup Series racers and the owner of 23XI Racing, clocks an average finish of 20.3 at the Daytona International Speedway.
  • Darlington Raceway is yet another venue where recent stats do favor Bubba Wallace. He has recently concluded a 7th place finish at the venue in May this year. Given his current form and the rhythm the 23XI ace racer is in lately, expect nothing short of a solid finish from Wallace this time in South Carolina.
