Following multiple racing crashes, multiple NASCAR drivers suffered injuries that echoed concussion-like symptoms. The Next-Gen cars have been a particular point of discussion regarding driver safety after drivers like Kurt Busch, Alex Bowman, and Cody Ware suffered seemingly complex impacts.

NASCAR journalist Jeff Gluck recently broke the news that three drivers would not be participating in this weekend’s race at Charlotte Roval. In his Tweet, he stated, “Alex Bowman will miss the Roval race due to lingering concussion symptoms. He was evaluated by doctors today. Noah Gragson will drive the No. 48 car in his place. Three full-time drivers will be unable to participate this week due to injury (Bowman, Kurt Busch, Cody Ware).”
It is not often that one sees three full-time drivers unable to race due to similar injuries sustained during impacts with the new generation of race cars. One would imagine that the Next-Gen cars would be safer than the generations prior. However, that does not seem to be the case at the moment. NASCAR has been facing tremendous backlash not only from their fans but also from their very own drivers.
Concerned fans slam NASCAR on recurring driver safety issues
Fans were not happy with the way the organization was treating this pressing issue. They lashed out at them for failing to find a quick fix for the known issues that the drivers have been facing throughout this season.
When it comes to the comments section of Jeff Gluck’s Twitter post, the overall mood was that of unhappiness and concern. The majority of the people were bothered that Bowman’s injuries could perhaps turn out to be on similar lines as Kurt Busch. Some fans also pointed out how things had become out of control at this point or that it should never have gone this far.
This might end up like Kurt’s situation. An injury we thought would last a few weeks ends up becoming a season ending injury.

Inexcusable. Terrible. Someone in Nascar should be fired. 20 years after Dale and we go way backwards towards that tragedy. Uncalled for.

They want to penalize the crap out of everyone but themselves this year.
