Former NASCAR driver and Xfinity Series team co-owner, Dale Earnhardt Jr, recently announced his driver replacement for the departing Noah Gragson over a short clip on Twitter. While Junior seemed to be excited, some fans were not particularly excited about their latest signing.

In the video, Junior was quoted saying, “I’m glad we can finally announce the news of Brandon coming to JR motorsports. I’ve been following him pretty closely, especially since I got in the broadcast booth. And I like his style, I like the driver he is, I think he is a great fit for JR motorsports.

Noah is leaving the nine-car, great position for whoever gets in it. So we are going to hit the ground running and have a lot of fun together. I also think we got a pretty cool idea for a throwback right out of the gates. So excited about all this Brandon let’s get going, man.

NASCAR Fans react to Dale Earnhardt Jr’s latest driver announcement for Jr Motorsports

Fans were not necessarily thrilled at the announcement. Most were seen complaining that Brandon Jones would be yet another paid driver and that they could have done much better had they hired someone with better racecraft and potential.

Fans stated that the seat was sold out for sponsor money rather than to give it to someone more deserving of better machinery. A few also stated that there were far better drivers out on the grid that could have been a better fit than Brandon Jones.
