“Dad made it home in the sky last night. It’s hard to put into words who my dad was for me.” In the world of ARCA Menards, Christian Rose shines bright, having racked up 14 top-10 finishes in a mere 28 races over two years. However, the year hasn’t been very kind to him. Recently, the Martinsburg native, deeply rooted in the soil of West Virginia’s eastern panhandle, took to X to share a heart-wrenching update: the loss of his father. Yet, there’s a twist in the tale that tugs even more at the heartstrings.

The relationship Christian Rose shared with his father transcended time and space. It was one that was so steeped in love that, now that his father is gone, it’s not just Rose and his family grieving. It’s the entire NASCAR community. Christian Rose’s passion for racing was fueled by his father’s unwavering support. From the tender age of 10, he was a familiar face at Daytona International Speedway. His childhood was a journey through various racetracks, soaking up every bit of knowledge about his beloved sport. After a sneaky visit to the Daytona garage to meet his heroes, Rose started to dream of his future behind the wheel. And his parents helped him every step of the way.

In an exclusive interview with News From The Pits, Rose was asked how he switched to racing, considering he had been excelling in baseball at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, a Division 1 program. I went from playing baseball my whole life and being a fan [of racing]. I made it into the garage area as a kid, and my parents got talking to guys, asking how do I get started. I was an athlete so how do I become one of the guys that go over the wall and be a part of NASCAR? We started talking and did a one-day test session.” From there on, Rose hasn’t looked back. But apart from his racing career, the American had a lot more to thank his father for.

Expressing all that his father did for him, Rose wrote on X, “Selfless is the one the comes to mind. He came into my life at a young age. He didn’t have to raise 2 kids that were not his. He did, and did it was unconditional love. I love you Dad.” In the comments, Christian Rose continued, You taught me so many life lessons, and most of all taught me to be a father! I know you’ll be looking over us all. I know this isn’t goodbye, I’ll see you again one day!”

2023 was one hell of a ride for Christian Rose. On the bright side, he made his much-anticipated NASCAR Truck Series debut at Richmond Raceway, steering the #22 Ford F-150 for AM Racing. But life has its twists and turns, and sadly, he also faced the loss of his father. In these tough times, the NASCAR community has stepped up, rallying around this rising star with unwavering support and compassion.
