The championship weekend is the most significant event on NASCAR’s calendar. The most competitive weekend of the post-season will surely witness some firecrackers on and off the track. While the tracks will be filled with cars battling it out to land themselves different championships across the weekend, another major attraction will be the presence of stars outside the field of NASCAR at the trackside.
Scheduled to be held at the Phoenix Raceway on the first weekend of November, the plan has been set in place; the guestlists have been finalized, and the only thing remaining unknown is the names of the drivers that will be battling it out on the asphalt. Apart from some of the best drivers in the sport, a widely famous and renowned DJ has also joined the host of stars to be present at the season finale.

Considered a relatively niche category in the modern music segment, it has gradually garnered fans worldwide. But as far as the artists in that specific genre are concerned, their music has managed to reach the hearts of fans in every corner of the globe. One of the world’s richest DJs, valued at $50 million, is Diplo.
Diplo has entertained fans from different groups since the beginning of the last decade and has mesmerized us with iconic hits like Lean On and many more. In recent news, NASCAR has availed its services for the fans to vibe to at Phoenix during the last weekend of the season.

Phoenix Raceway president Latasha Causey announced his recruitment in an official press release earlier this year, saying, “We are beyond excited to have a world-renowned producer perform for our race fans. Diplo is sure to spark the energy to properly close out an amazing 2023 NASCAR season.”
Diplo has been a mainstay in the EDM industry for quite some time and has created a fanbase of his own as well. However, he also found himself in the middle of some misunderstandings and unwarranted controversy earlier this year involving the evergreen music superstar Beyonce.

Fans have claimed that Diplo was seen saying, “They bought that” in reaction to Beyonce’s win.

Diploe clarified about his actions on Instagram saying, “Beyoncé’s album was legendary (I’m a Beyoncé stan remember I produced some classic dance songs for her like ‘Til the end of time’ and ‘Girls Run the World’. What’s important to understand was that her intention was 100 per cent. She did the work found the real producers and she made classics… So she deserves her flowers . And when she won I was just proud to see my nomination on the screen in the huge arena.”

While from the looks of it, Diplo has surely moved on from the incident. He will undoubtedly look forward to entertaining the fans of NASCAR at Phoenix in November, helping him find a new fanbase amongst the fans of a niche sport.
