Corey Lajoie witnessed a colorful year in the 2023 NASCAR season. Tailing some of the Cup Series’ hotshots, Lajoie came close to clinching victories. That is why expectations are running high regarding his upcoming performance in 2024. He may be hiding some tricks up his sleeve that he will unleash this season.

Driving the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports, Lajoie has his eyes on multiple races. He has the support of veteran driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Dale believes that Lajoie has the potential to make it into the playoffs this year. Dirty Mo hosts also expressed a similar trust in Lajoie’s hidden talents.

Steady and consistent growth leads to an eventual brilliant result. In NASCAR racing as well, some drivers did not impress much at first. But with persistent efforts, they soon rose through the ladder to glory. In a recent episode of Dirty Mo Dough, Steve Letarte and co-hosts dig deep into Corey Lajoie’s position for the 2024 races.

They first dissected the phenomenal growth of Lajoie’s team, Spire Motorsports. This team started as a meager organization of 35, but now they are huge, with Doug Duchardt as their president. Then they moved to Lajoie. “Corey Lajoie has a good history of plate racing, speedway racing, Atlanta…Corey has a great success rate there.”

Lajoie is very close behind the champions. “He has the second-best average finish in the last four Daytona 500s, sitting right behind Ryan Blaney…average finish in the last Daytona 500 is 11.75, second-best to Ryan Blaney in that time-frame.”

Steve Letarte subsequently boldly stated that he would bet on Lajoie. “…If Cory Lajoie goes out and runs second in the Duels or third in the Duels, you’re done, you’ve lost your juice…so I would be an early long-shot better and I would wait. I would sit on my hands.”

Letarte may not be so far off on his predictions. Lajoie has been steadily growing through the years, savoring every well-tried race. The 32-year-old driver impressed his fans in 2023. He had two top-5 and three top-10 finishes and ended with a career-best 25th in the standings.

At the Atlanta Cup Series race, Lajoie finished in the top 4. But he celebrated it with as much ecstasy as he would with a first-place finish. He also finished in the top 10 at last year’s Daytona 500. Lajoie is going into 2024 with the backing of a four-year-old sponsorship.

Corey is going to kick off the 2024 season colorfully. He already competed full time in the Cup Series under Spire. But he is going to expand his activity by venturing into the Truck Series opener on February 18th. While veteran crew chief Brian Pattie will lead the No. 7 team , Bluegreen Vacations will sponsor Lajoie’s entry into the trucks.

“We’ve been working with Bluegreen Vacations now for four years so it’s exciting to continue to grow that partnership,” said LaJoie. “Bluegreen sponsors the Duals on Thursday night, so it’s important we do a good job for them because they have such a big presence during Speedweek at Daytona.” In last year’s Truck Series opener, he led 19 laps before the race was called off due to rainy weather.
