NASCAR’s COTA race has seen teammates become rivals, and vice versa, with Kaulig Racing’s well-oiled machine representing themselves inexplicably throughout the 46 laps. The duo has been in strong competition for the 1-2 spot. However, on the other end of the top-10 battle, Dale Jr’s ARCA winning duo for JR Motorsports, P15 qualifier Justin Allgaier and P10 Sam Mayer, have been exactly the opposite on the final laps.

Justin Allgaier Called Out  by Crew Chief After Sam Mayer Incident

The track limits have been hard to manage for more than a dozen drivers, with the likes of Ty Gibbs and JH Nemechek, as well as JRM’s stage 2 “winner,” Brandon Jones, having to restart from the back. Amidst the perilous advances on Turns 2, 3, 4, and 5, Justin Allgaier’s #7 Chevrolet was seen pushing teammate Mayer’s #1 car off-track in the final stages, with many calling out signs of “bullying” from the 2018 Regular Series champion’s end.

According to updates by Dustin Albino, even the #9 crew asked its driver to stop “messing around” with Mayer. He had retorted, saying, “I didn’t do anything.” Jonathan Fjeld then came up with another update where the crew chief, Jim Pohlman, openly called out Allgaier, saying, “Alright man, we don’t need to be Radio Sweetheart. Keep it clean and manage it to the end.”
