We have all seen NASCAR going racing in the dirt, but how about ice? Ever thought of watching stock cars race on ice? Well, now you can as NASCAR Whelen Euro Series recently announced that it would be going ice racing next year in Finland. So Dale Earnhardt Jr was asked if he thought NASCAR could ever think of such a possibility in the United States.

Junior said, “I don’t think so. Goodness, man that’s crazy. I mean, I imagine up there it’s probably not this crazy idea because there’s a tonne of ice but, it’s always cold. I mean I know that I’ll be tuning in to see that and that’ll be pretty interesting. But I don’t think we’ll ever see it in Xfinity Racing or Trucks. You never know though man.”

Junior found the prospect to be interesting, but the same time did not think such a race would take place. But after a point, even he questioned himself and said that he cannot be exactly sure. Considering street racing was never a thing in NASCAR and now next year we have the Chicago street race. In those regards, we assume that NASCAR could also someday bring forth the idea to run a race, or at least an exhibition race on the ice, possibly somewhere in Alaska or something.

Freddie Kraft reacts to NASCAR journalists talking about racing in the cold

Later on, as the news spread, journalists, Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi started talking about how it would be amazing to race in the cold. But as NASCAR spotter Freddie Kraft caught wind of the discussion, he quickly put an end to the journalist’s discussion.

Gluck had stated, Looking forward to the 2025 Clash held on a frozen lake in Alaska.” Soon Bianchi said, Minnesota is lovely in January. Hearing all this Kraft intervened and said, I wish you two would shut the hell up.

This was obviously humor rather than anything else, Kraft was hinting towards the fact that as spotters it would be a nightmare to work on a frozen lake since, well, they would freeze or say catch a cold.
