The 2023 Xfinity Series champion, Cole Custer, is known for his fearless and determined demeanor across the NASCAR community. Just like the Stewart-Haas Racing prodigy kept the fans on edge during his 2023 season, this time, an exhilarating crossover has come into being and is sure to send the fanbase in splits. But what is it?
It looks like before the first Xfinity race of the 2024 season kicks off, Cole Custer has found himself trading jerseys with a fellow NASCAR driver. But the attire in question isn’t from the stock car racing world, but from the realm of ice hockey. Yes, unbelievable, but true.

Recently, Custer locked a sponsorship deal with Andy’s Frozen Custard and will be primarily sponsored for three races on his 2024 calendar. So, the tension in gathering funding is relieved, and this calls for some time outside the motorsport world, and Custer’s all ice for it.
NHL team Tampa Bay Lightning has secured 22 wins from 44 matches, standing at P4 at the moment. But before their latest bout against the Anaheim Ducks, the team probably needed some high-octane spirit, following which Custer and NASCAR driver Sébastien Bourdais went to Tampa Bay’s stable to cheer up the peeps. Both drivers had their car numbers ingrained on the jersey. For Cole Custer, it is #00 for his Ford, whereas for Boudrais, it is #01 for his Cadillac.
The Xfinity champ’s gesture toward Tampa Bay’s defensemen Nick Perbix and forward Austin Watson deserves heartfelt thanks, and the NHL team didn’t forget to extend their gratitude and unveiled their thanks on X and wrote, “Not your average jersey swap. @NASCAR @DAYTONA drivers @ColeCuster and @BourdaisOnTrack joined Watty and Perbix ahead of tonight’s game 🤩”

New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara is also a brand ambassador of NASCAR, and just before his game against the Carolina Panthers on December 10, Kamara pulled up in a Toyota Supra NASCAR pace car in a bid to spread stock car racing’s appeal to the entire United States. That sight surely caught many onlookers off guard.
Complementing Kamara’s move, Cole Custer showed up to his match donning a NASCAR hoodie with the initials of Alvin Kamara, AK, embedded on it, a great way to grow the sport and support its ambassador. The cherry on top is that the New Orleans Saints annihilated the Carolina Panthers as they ended their clash with a dominance of 28-6.
