With the introduction of the Next Gen car, all NASCAR teams and drivers are going through a sort of tough phase in having to adjust to it. But it’s only natural. The new car is so radically different that the only thing common between the old car and this one are the seats. So getting up to speed with it is a process that will not only take time but should be done with “common sense”. At least that’s what Kevin Harvick feels.
In an interview with Speedway Digest, Harvick spoke about the ‘benefit’ his 22 years of experience in the sport has with stepping in the new car.
“Today’s sport is so engineering-minded that the simple, everyday things sometimes get forgotten. It’s very important to do all the little things right, and you have to execute the simple things right too,” Harvick said.
