Dale Earnhardt Sr, Jeff Gordon
Jeff Gordon began his NASCAR Cup Series career, all the way back in 1993. This means that he would have faced off against a certain Dale Earnhardt. Earnhardt is well-known for being an aggressive driver, and Gordon found out the hard way why he was ‘The Intimidator’. At the Phoenix Raceway in his debut season, the two of them had a coming together and crashed out. Recently, Gordon reflected on that incident and admitted his fault.
He told Rob Tiongson, “I look back on it now, and really. It was my fault. Should I have been wrecked for it? Probably not, but it was my fault. We’re in the late stages of the race, and I’m just racing him so hard. He was better than me, he caught me, he was trying to pass me. I just continued to race him on the outside, and I think he got tired of it and frustrated and impatient. He’s like, okay I got to teach this rookie a lesson here. He doesn’t know how to race in the Top 10 at a place like Phoenix.”

How had Jeff Gordon performed in NASCAR since his debut season?
Since then, he has gone on to strike a rivalry with the 7-time NASCAR Cup Series champion. Gordon has actually had the honour of racing against all three 7-time NASCAR Cup Series champions. Gordon’s debut race was in the final race of the 1992 season, which was Richard Petty’s final season. Meanwhile, he competed against Earnhardt and Jimmie Johnson, who were both in their prime. To make matters even better, Gordon snatched four Cup Series championships.
