Jane Austen, in her most acclaimed novel Pride and Prejudice, in the opening lines of the book, wrote, “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.” These lines may have held some gravity in the bygone days, but the instances in the present scenario have surely changed. It is no more related to fortune or the dire need of wives that men settle down for marriage. It is arguably more about being walking shoulder to shoulder with the beloved of the love, sharing the joys and defeats together and as one. And it is not just the world of fiction that sets the trend about love for their partners, but also the motorsports like NASCAR.
In contemporary times, the world of NASCAR has seen how the wives and the partners of the drivers are not just the better halves of their husbands, but also successful professionals in their own given fields.
And among the roster of names like Samantha Busch, and Amanda Wallace, also lies the name of Leah Pruett, a successful drag racer and wife of Tony Stewart. And as a husband of such an impressive woman, the last thing that the team owner wants to do is disrupt the marital bliss by being over-competitive. Which Tony Stewart reveals in an interview with Autoweek.

Tony Stewart Reveals the Perfect Recipe for How He Maintains His Marital Bliss With His Racer Wife
There are very few personalities in the history of NASCAR who have left their mark as outstanding driver in all of its formats and categories. And among the handful of names, lies the name of Tony Stewart. He is not only a 3x Cup Series champion but also someone who has raced in two of the most coveted races Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on a single weekend. And the recent crown to his name was winning the Top Alcohol Dragster race in Las Vegas.
But the credits for the last race can also be extended to his most deserving wife Leah Pruett, a top title contender of the Top Fuel drag racing. It was through his wife, Leah Pruett, that the Hall of Famer found his knack for drag racing. But being a chiseled driver himself, the last thing he would want to do as a racer is to race against his wife. Even though his wife races under his NHRA team.
In the interview with Autoweek, the co-owner of the Stewart-Haas Racing team, revealed the fact regarding racing against his wife, “Well, first of all, I like my side of the bed.” He also asserted the fact, “So the last thing I need to do is race against my wife. I’m not ready for that. I mean, I respect the sport too much and, and I wasn’t even sure I should be competing in alcohol.”
But that does not mean he has stopped learning or taking advice from his wife. He revealed the fact that his wife is the biggest supporter that he could ever ask for. He stated, “I mean, when your wife’s there, she’s your biggest critic and your best teacher at the same time. If I did something wrong and she knows how I want to do everything right, she’s like a drill sergeant, watching everything that I do when I drive that car. If I make a small mistake, she calls me out on it and makes me correct it. And that’s what I want her to do. And that’s why I love racing with my wife.
Starting a family could be one path, if even on short-term basis, for Stewart to replace wife Leah Pruett in her NHRA Top Fuel dragster. https://t.co/OeQSrMRoXy

Speaking on a similar topic, while talking to Dale Earnhardt Jr on his Dirty Mo Media podcast, Stewart shared his thoughts: “I’m just trying to be an average husband; I’m not even trying to set the bar too high. I just want to do the right things and have fun with my wife. If Leah retired tomorrow, I would still be involved in the same capacity than I am right now. It has nothing to do with our relationship. She just helped set the hook on getting me addicted to an NHRA.”
This is the type of support that all humans dream of from their partners. These two racers are surely one of a kind and prove the fact that being in the same profession does not lower the marital bliss. The Stewart couple has reinforced the fact it is through constant love and support that one can overcome any hindrance.
