“Right on. She’s a real-deal racer. I don’t expect a top ten, but I would love to see her have a solid showing. She’s got 4 races total with them; Road America, Indy Road, Watkins Glen and the Roval,” a fan on Reddit commented.

Another added, “She finished top 15 a few years ago in a JD Motorsports entry; she’s really good on road courses.”

“Nice! Very happy to see that Kat’s doing another NASCAR race, especially with IMSA running the Indy road course as well.” one fan added.

“Oh, hell yes!! She impressed when she ran Xfinity a handful of years ago.”

A NASCAR enthusiast added, “Wow. Holy cow. Didn’t expect that. I’m excited to see what she can do.”

“Move over, boys! Legge’s bringing a whole lotta girl power to the track. Let’s cheer her on!” one texted.

One fan cheered, “Let’s go, Kat!!”

‘She’s also running this weekend at Road America in the #07 as well.” another fan informed.

Katherine Legge’s resume reads like a blueprint for racing excellence. She is burning rubber in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Series, securing four top-10 finishes this season, including a remarkable fourth-place finish in the iconic 24 Hours of Daytona. It was in Detroit in 2017 when she etched her name in history, leading her team to its first-ever worldwide victory.

Legge’s audacious drive led her to set a new speed record for a female driver, both for a single lap and a four-lap qualifying average in the event’s 107-year history. With an astonishing four-lap average of 231.070, she left the previous record of 229.439 in 2002, dusted in her rearview mirror. Legge became the ninth woman to compete in the Indy 500 in 2012 and showcased her undying spirit and passion for breaking barriers as the sole female racer in 2023’s event.

This isn’t Katherine Legge’s first encounter with the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In 2018 she blazed a trail with her skill and tenacity, competing in four races at the Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course, Richmond Raceway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Road America. The cherry on top was her impressive 14th-place finish at Road America, leaving fans hungry for more of her British grit.

When asked about her decision to take on this new challenge, Legge said, “The Indy 500 made me realize that life and racing careers are too short not to go for it. My interest and passion are to continue to break new ground in motorsports.”
