The result? A one-of-a-kind go-kart race that left the fans wanting more! But before that, racing legend Tony Stewart graced the podcast, sharing exhilarating insights into the world of NHRA racing. As the podcast conversation steered towards his wife, Leah, Tony Stewart beamed with pride. Leah Pruett is no ordinary speed enthusiast; she drives the NHRA Top Fuel class, reaching astonishing speeds of over 330 miles per hour. Pat McAfee couldn’t help but wonder, “Your wife is boss at 330 miles an hour. She’s going faster than you’ve ever been, right?”

Since this wasn’t the first time Tony was faced with such a question, he had the ultimate response planned for the host.

Tony said, “True. But she can only do it for 3 1/2 seconds. I can do it for 3 1/2 hours.” Everyone in the room laughed, as a friendly rivalry between husband and wife came to light. While Leah dominates the sprint, Tony’s mastery lies in endurance.

With the NASCAR Cup Series heading to the iconic Indy road course at Indiana Motor Speedway for the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard on August 13th, Stewart is gearing up for the NHRA US Nationals, an event close to his heart in his hometown of Indiana. And what better way to promote the event than teaming up with the home NFL team, the Indiana Colts, and joining forces with the eccentric YouTuber Pat McAfee?

Tony Stewart didn’t hold back as Pat McAfee wanted to dive into the NHRA racing. He painted a vivid picture of this adrenaline-pumping sport, emphasizing that it all started with a bunch of “good old boys” who found joy in building engines. However, things have certainly escalated since then.

“There’s 22 national events across the country. I’m racing in Pennsylvania this weekend with a regional series. So there’s seven regions in the country. NHRA has four pro divisions. They have Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike. And then all the other divisions are technically sportsman division. So I run the top out called Dragster class. Top Fuel and Funny Car only run 1000 feet, so they’re running 330 plus mile an hour in 1000 feet. My class is the same. Same style of car, different motor configuration, runs the full quarter mile, and only runs 280 miles an hour only.” Tony Stewart stated.

As Stewart took a break from his co-ownership duties at Stewart-Haas Racing to focus on the drag strip, where he hopes to continue his winning streak in the NHRA, he’s also been busy with his Stock Car Racing promotion – the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX). But he didn’t miss the chance to support the US Nationals in his home state, dedicating a brief media day to stop by the Indy Colts training camp.
