A lot has been happening in the NASCAR world following RCR’s Martinsville meltdown. Prominent driver and enthusiasts have given their takes on the infamous feud between teammates Austin Hill and Sheldon Creed including NASCAR’s most popular Dale Earnhardt Jr. While the RCR boss threw the younger driver under the bus, deeming his actions as “stupid” backing the regular season champion, Hill, many including Kyle Busch’s close associate have a different perspective on the incident.
In our exclusive interview with Busch’s former employee and current ARCA sensation, Jesse Love’s crew chief, the man gets candid about his thoughts on the RCR implosion at Martinsville, briefly mentioning what happened on Saturday.

While the “Rowdy” switch to Richard Childress Racing was itself out of the bloom for many fans, the proud Chevy-partnered team’s Martinsville meltdown was a shocker, hitting them like a freight train as the team got both of its playoff entries knocked out of the championship chase.
Amidst the chaotic closing laps of the race, JRM driver and Dale Jr.‘s pride, JustinAllgaier,r took home the decisive as the two RCR Chevys were taking it out on each other. In fact, Saturday’s Dead on Tools 250 was something no team owner wanted to witness. The setting was perfect for a picture finish, with the #21 and #2 RCR cars going toe to toe into the final turns of the closing lap until things turned awry in a flash.
Both Austin Hill and his teammate, Sheldon Creed, needed a win to make it past the final playoff race, and both drivers were committed to having one at any cost. However, this meant that tensions were flaring high as the race neared its end. Creed went for the kill as he attempted to get past the hill in the final turn, initiating a bloody wreck in the backstretch that squashed the regular season champion’s title hopes.

With Sheldon Creed already making his decisions known and planning to switch sides in 2024, given the bad blood between the teammates, Richard Childress roped in the ARCA sensation, Jesse Love, as Creed’s replacement. Reflecting on the whole fiasco, Love’s ARCA crew chief from Venturini Motorsports, Shannon Rursch, gave his take.
In the exclusive interview given to our representative at EssentiallySports, Brahmi Dhaytadak, the former KBM crew chief, said, “You know you had Austin Hill and Sheldon (Creed) both trying to make the playoffs, so I certainly understand the passion, the driver, and the motivation. Unfortunately, it came down to 2 teammates and neither one capitalized and won the race so that was for that organization.”

For one, this is not the first time both drivers have been in each other’s faces. The two have gotten into each other more than once this year, and things certainly don’t leave a good impression. While the 26-year-old exposes the alleged favoritism in the team, with the boss, Childress, and company favoring Hill, NASCAR enthusiasts seem to back the younger driver.
Dale Jr. also had similar thoughts when the veteran gave his take on the Dale Jr Download. Similarly, former NASCAR driver and NBC’s pre-race analyst, Kyle Petty, also backed Sheldon Creed, mentioning the #20 JGR driver’s involvement in this. He said, “John Hunter Nemechek gets in the back of Austin Hill and spins him out, that’s not Sheldon Creed’s fault.”

“Sheldon Creed is trying to win his first race, why should Sheldon Creed move over and let Austin Hill win, why? Tell me, I don’t understand,” said the veteran brutally doubling down.
