Less than a month is left for the 2025 NASCAR season to kick off! And there are many things to look forward to in the new season. However, the one we are most excited about is seeing the Trackhouse Racing team perform. New Zealand native Shane Van Gisbergen joins Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez in the Cup Series as Trackhouse Racing hosts an international lineup of stars. SVG might be the Series rookie, but you cannot count him out. No one has forgotten what he did in his debut Cup race!

It was the 2023 Chicago Street race, and he bagged a P3 start and won the race, leaving the entire NASCAR community shocked. And that emotion continued when in his debut Xfinity Season, he got 3 wins and a P12 season finish. Well, Shane van Gisbergen is not exactly a newbie, he’s a three-time Supercar champion. Speaking of which, he’s managed to bring his longtime partner from the Australian series to the Cup. And it also happens to be their return to NASCAR after 14 years, leaving fans emotional.

Red Bull is back!

For those of you who remember the mid-2000s, a new team entered NASCAR, and we were thrilled. However, the hype surrounding their entry was as short-lived as their NASCAR journey (2006 -2011). The team made 324 starts but only managed two wins (Brian Vickers in 2009 and Kasey Kahne in 2011). The problem was the team was also its own sponsor. And with its lackluster performances, and frequent driver changes, it could not thrive in stock car racing. While it did wonders in Formula One during the same period, fans wondered if a comeback was ever on the cards.

In 2025, the comeback is finally here! The multi-billion dollar company will be sponsoring SVG’s #88 car for 5 races this season. Starting with Las Vegas (March 16), then Sonoma (July 13), Iowa (Aug. 3), Daytona (Aug. 23), and Kansas (Sept. 28). And this a reunion for even Shane van Gisbergen, who had them as sponsors in the Supercar Series since 2016.

The reignited partnership had SVG post a hearty message on X. He wrote, Super excited to be racing with wiiings again on my car now with Red Bull Motors in NASCAR! They have been great supporters of me back home so awesome to have them on board with Team Trackhouse.”

What’s your perspective on:

Can Shane van Gisbergen's magic with Red Bull bring Trackhouse Racing its first NASCAR championship?

Have an interesting take?

Shane van Gisbergen has been a Red Bull athlete for 9 years now. Within seven years, the duo bagged 3 titles (2016, 2021, and 2022) along with 78 wins, and 47 poles. This made the Kiwi the sport’s fourth most successful driver of the series. As a bonus to this Red Bull and NASCAR reunion, RB is also sponsoring NASCAR prodigy and Trackhouse development driver Conor Zilisch’s debut Cup race in 2025. Naturally, Red Bull’s comeback has made fans celebrate!

Fans can’t hold back on their emotions

Undoubtedly, Red Bull is currently one of the biggest names in Motorsports today. Be it their success in Moto GP or their winning eight F1 championships. So having them in NASCAR only means great things for the sport. And fans echoed the same emotion. One fan wrote, “Really cool SVG! We’re glad to see them back in NASCAR!” Another fan wrote, “I have always loved that paint scheme. Good job giving them a reason to come back.” Hopefully, they are here to stay.

And speaking of paint schemes, the team might have not won much, but the RB paint scheme is iconic. The blue, red, and yellow colors and that ‘Bull’ leaping on the side panel. Let’s hope SVG drives it to victory lane, as that livery doing doughnuts would surely be picturesque. And fans love how the brand new RB #88 car is looking! A fan of this wrote, “Awesome looking car.” Also, for another fan, a win doesn’t matter as much as a die-cast of this scheme. “PLEASE tell me there will be die cast?!?!?” We don’t blame him. The car is stunning looking but also marks the restart of the Red Bull era in NASCAR. So that makes it even more special.

And no one can deny Trackhouse’s Cup lineup is looking good! Suarez was in good form making the playoffs last season. He’s always in contention to win on Superspeedways. Ross Chastain, although did not have a great last season, he too gained his form back by playing spoiler in Kansas. And we all know how good Shane van Gisbergen was in 2024. So carrying that same momentum in 2025, a fan thinks “Trackhouse is winning a championship this year for sure.”
