The three-way battle for the checkered flag between Shane Van Gisbergen, Chase Elliott & Justin Haley descended into a desperate and intense pursuit. While Shane Van Gisbergen created history in the Grant Park 220 race, becoming the first driver in sixty years to win his Cup Series debut, his victory was closely linked to the efforts of his experienced crew chief, Darian Grubb.

Darian Grubb is a veteran, having worked for impressive teams such as Hendrick Motorsports, Stewart-Haas Racing, and Joe Gibbs Racing. With his help, Van Gisbergen stayed focused and used his skill to make an incredible climb through the standings. Ultimately seizing the lead from Justin Haley on the 71st lap. Not to forget, the #91 Chevrolet Camaro drove to victory lane coming all the way from an 18th place in the shortened 75-lap race.

Van Gisbergen’s win marked the second consecutive victory for Trackhouse Racing, the first one being in Nashville by Ross Chastain.
