Who do you think can be the next James Bond? While there are many names, including Tom Hardy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Sam Heughan who are all in the running for the keys to the DB5, Hendrick Motorsports drivers believe the latest Talladega winner and the most popular driver of NASCAR, Chase Elliott could be a perfect fit for the #007 suit. But why?
Rick Hendrick’s crew not only rates Chase Elliott as a top-notch racer but also as a pretty serious dude
Team Hendrick recently dropped a video on Instagram where they asked all four drivers who they thought could pull off being the next James Bond. Kicking it off, Chase Elliott picked William Byron, explaining, “I don’t think any of us. None of us, I would say, but I could see William doing that. He’s just kind of mysterious, you know. You just don’t know what you’re gonna get.” But the rest of the team pointed to Chase.

William Byron noted, “I don’t know who’s sneaky, see? I’d say, Chase,“ Alex Bowman agreed with a simple, “I’ll go- Chase,” and Kyle Larson added, “I’ll go Chase. I don’t know, I don’t really know much about James Bond. I feel like they’re both pretty serious people. So probably Chase.” James Bond is known in the movies for being super smart, incredibly crafty, and fiercely independent. He’s also cool, mature, and a bit sly.
Just like James Bond is known for being a meticulous secret agent, Chase Elliott seems to share a similar vibe. That could be a cool story for him to dive into if he decides to join the second season of NASCAR: Full Speed. But he’s said he needs to hit his stride on the track again and build some momentum before he even thinks about making his debut in a docuseries.
Maybe he ought to start getting ready for that spotlight, especially since he’s already climbed into the top 3 of the drivers’ standings.

Rocking the #9, he’s racked up 337 points along with a couple of stage points. Elliott has even edged past Denny Hamlin, who’s snagged two race wins this season. He’s only 22 points shy of the leader, Kyle Larson, and just 7 points behind Martin Truex Jr. And anticipatedly, this might be the start of one of his great seasons.
Kenny Wallace put it perfectly: “Chase Elliott is the last of the bloodline of the greats. I know Ryan Blaney has won the championship and I love his dad, Dave, but he was never a NASCAR great. He didn’t win any races. I didn’t win any races, so me and Dave Blaney are kind of the same.”
