Currently, the Bubba Wallace and Kyle Larson retaliation is all that anybody can talk about. However, it is interesting to note that this was not the first time a driver retaliated against a rival. Back in a 2013 Truck race at Martinsville, there was a coming together between Kevin Harvick and Ty Dillon.

Obviously, Harvick was incensed and proceeded to use his truck to repeatedly bump and ram into Dillon’s truck. In response to that, Dillon was trying to spin the #14 Truck driver out of the race. Finally, to cap things off, Dillon’s crew were absolutely fuming, and one of them even flung a sledgehammer at Harvick’s truck. Luckily, it missed hitting the car, or that would have been another can of worms opened.

How did NASCAR fans compare this with Bubba Wallace and his incident?

Ironically, Bubba Wallace did win this Martinsville race, ahead of Brendan Gaughan and Jeb Burton. However, many fans drew plenty of comparisons between this incident and the one in Las Vegas earlier this month. Both of them were retaliatory ones, and some people accused NASCAR of letting Wallace get away mostly.

Of course, others did point out that the 23XI Racing driver was not out of the woods, because he received a 1-race ban. A few other fans did accuse NASCAR and NBC Sports of trying to milk the incident for what it’s worth.

Now hopefully, Bubba Wallace returns to the racing action in a more civil state of mind. As he prepares for the Cup race at Martinsville, the last thing he needs is to lose his cool once again. Otherwise, he could end up with another race ban or an even harsher punishment from NASCAR and possibly his team.
