Ross Chastain arguably has a penchant for making enemies out of his rivals. Among his biggest rivals, is Denny Hamlin, who he tangled with a lot, last year. This year, though Hamlin is right up there, he has been recently joined by former teammate Kyle Busch.

When Busch spoke about the Trackhouse Racing star, he taunted him by suggesting that he needed glasses. Now, a new rival has joined the party. And that is Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Christopher Bell. A fuming Bell called Chastain a ‘wrecking ball’ and after the race at the Richmond Raceway, Chastain responded to the comments.

He told reporters after the race, “I never saw the #24. I know I was at the bottom of [Turn] 3 but I never saw the #24. He can say what he wants, like other guys he walks right by me and doesn’t say anything to me. I don’t think I touched anybody and just down there on my line.”

“Don’t think I touched William, so I don’t think that there was contact with William. We got to say the facts and not opinions.”

“I never saw the #24. I was underneath the #20, but I didn’t touch the #20 either. If he’s going to call me a wrecking ball, I don’t understand.”

“I didn’t touch anybody and I got down the inside of the #20 entering Turn 1, that’s all I saw.”

Does Ross Chastain have something against Joe Gibbs Racing drivers?

There is a slight pattern here, as the Trackhouse Racing driver has collided with two JGR drivers. Furthermore, he even had an altercation with a former JGR star, in the form of Busch. All that is left is for him to have incidents with Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs to complete the full set.

Speaking after Richmond, a disgruntled Christopher Bell spoke about how his race played out. Apparently, he was caught up in a wreck with William Byron, but he had no doubt who the real culprit was.

Speaking to the media, he declared that the “banzai” [Chastain] made it three-wide. Unfortunately, there was not enough space, and there was only one conclusion as to how that was going to end.

Back at the Circuit of The Americas, when Busch made his ‘glasses’ jab, Chastain was not going to take it lying down. He declared that he should probably tell him personally. Of course, it didn’t help that the media played up the rivalry more than it was supposed it.
