Racing is in the Busch family’s blood. With dad Kyle being a NASCAR star, it’s no surprise that young Brexton is already on his way to becoming a champion. We’re talking Late Models, Stocks, and maybe, just maybe, a future race against his dad in the Cup Series. But before that happens, there’s still some time to go. Right now, Brexton’s dominating the midget racing scene, and let’s just say, the kid is on fire!
In 2024 alone, Brexton racked up an impressive 126 top 10 finishes, 107 top 5s, and 48 wins. Oh, and did we mention he’s already a champion? He’s the KKM Challenge Jr. Sprint Champion, Millbridge Restricted Points Champion, PA Speedweek Jr Sprint Champion, and INEX Winter Nats Bandit Champ. Most recently, he won the coveted ‘Golden Driller’ at the Tulsa Shootout. Big deal, right? Yeah, it is! But with all those wins and accolades, it’s easy for a kid to start getting a little too big for his britches. Lucky for Brexton, his mom, Samantha, has a pretty solid handle on keeping him grounded.

Samantha Busch leads by example
After Brexton won at the Tulsa Shootout, Samantha saw an opportunity to teach him a valuable lesson in gratitude. Brexton started from the pole, led all 20 laps, and took home the Golden Driller. To celebrate, Samantha invited the whole team over. During the toast, she took a moment to remind Brexton (and everyone else) that no win comes without a team effort.
Samantha in her Instagram story said, “We are all so proud of you for winning your golden driller that you tired so hard for and we want to thank everybody on the team because you might have gotten the trophy but everyone standing here got you there. So thank you guys each one of you.”
The crew is often working tirelessly behind the scenes while the drivers get all the credit. It’s kind of like a mother’s role in a son’s life, so she understands how hard the tantrums can be, “We know that we live a very crazy life that a lot of times we are big pain in the a– We know but we appreciate each and everyone of you guys and everything that you do for us and make our life so much better and get Brexton his driller. And I hope everyone had a fun night and congratulations and cheers to everyone,” She added.
Samantha and Kyle’s lessons on humility have worked. After his Golden Driller victory, Brexton displayed a maturity beyond his years. Instead of gloating, he was full of gratitude and a little self-awareness. He said, “I was definitely very lucky to not get into some lap traffic, I was going to… I was a little worried about that. But still, just awesome to win. I thought that one time, on lap 14… whenever Eli had to pull in and Jax was right behind me, I thought I gave it away when I hit the brim one up. So I’m glad that I did it.”
But Samantha is surely proud of him even though she’s absolutely terrified of him racing!

Samantha is terrified of watching her son go so fast!
Let’s be real for a second—being the mom of a race car driver has gotta be terrifying. Especially when your husband is out there going 160 mph every weekend, and now your son’s racing too. Samantha knew what she was getting into when she married Kyle Busch, but that doesn’t make it any easier to watch your kid speed around a track.
If you remember, back in 2023, Brexton shared that his mom was hesitant about him racing midgets, and honestly, who can blame her? High-speed racing isn’t exactly a parent’s dream. But even though Samantha’s not the biggest fan of seeing her son fly around a track, she’s still there cheering him on. After his Golden Driller win, she admitted, “I’ve been watching all the races from last year to getting here. I was crying, I’m so proud of him.” But deep down, we all know she’d rather he slowed down a bit!
Samantha’s fears don’t stop at the racetrack. When Brexton was gifted a dirt bike for his win, he couldn’t help but laugh about how mad his mom would be. “Oh, she’s so mad right now about that Burromax,” he said. “She hates me on stuff that goes really fast. She is not going to like this.” And sure enough, Brexton’s latest post showed him testing his Micro Midget car, probably making Samantha question her parenting choices. We’re guessing she might have even unfollowed him on Instagram after that!

But joking aside, Brexton has a bright future ahead of him, and we wouldn’t be shocked if he keeps stacking up the wins and continues his dad’s legacy in NASCAR one day. What do you think?
