Samantha Busch has spent most of her adult life watching her beloved husband and her son get behind the wheels of speeding vehicles on dangerous tracks. One would think the wife of Kyle ‘Rowdy’ Busch and the sister-in-law of Kurt Busch would be unfazed by the sight of racecars.

But for a special little young man, this protective mama clutched her heart to her chest in an anxious fret this week as the Busch father-son duo went about a truly daredevil adventure.

Kyle and Samantha’s son Brexton ventured into dirt racing at the precious little age of 5. In the past three years, the 8-year-old budding racer triumphed in various dirt and sprint events across the country. Well-versed in the perils of a racing career, Brexton’s supportive mother secretly kept hoping he would eventually deviate from Kyle Busch’s turbulent path. But the successful midget racer has only leveled up to carry on the prodigious legacy set by the champion Busch brothers.

Eager to surpass their innumerable accolades, Brexton Busch took his first impressive steps into the world of grown-up racing along with his dad. Prior to his Cup race in Homestead this weekend, Kyle Busch prepared for a far more important racing event to diversify Brexton’s driving experience. And he chose the same ground where the 5-year-old aspiring racer practiced his first dirt laps- Milbridge Speedway.

Diligently carrying through her decal duties, Samana Busch couldn’t help voicing concern over her husband’s advanced decision for their son. Kyle Busch has been quite vocal about his boundless dreams for his son’s future. Holding the record for the most wins combined in NASCAR’s national series, the veteran driver showcased a noticeable shift in priorities this year. The sale of Kyle Busch Motorsports was the most consequential step in that direction.

Evidently, Busch now wished to devote his time to Brexton’s NASCAR career a few years down the line. Busch has also demarcated a specific timeline in that direction. In 7 years, Brexton will be 15 years old, and eligible to compete in select Truck Series races. Kyle Busch would like nothing more than to race alongside his son in that post-retirement scenario.

And the #5 driver has already started laying the first building blocks to transition Brexton from junior to more adult forms of racing events. Witnessing Brexton’s immediate prowess at a new vehicle, Kyle Busch marveled in his own social media post,

“Wanted to put Brexton in a restricted micro to continue building his experience. Last night he impressed me with his skill and ability to pick up a new car so quickly. There was only 2 of em out there but good practice for the future!”
