Ryan Newman got into a heated exchange with Tommy Baldwin Jr. and ended up shoving Baldwin after he felt Baldwin’s son Luke didn’t race him cleanly for the lead in Friday night’s SMART Modified Tour event at Franklin County Speedway in Virginia.

During the race with eight to go, Baldwin’s son Luke used up Newman and he got bitter about it. So at that point, both of them looked like contenders to win the race but after the incident–none of them claimed victory. This did upset Newman hugely and he went to confront Luke Baldwin. But Baldwin Jr. was in line waiting to intervene. In no time, all the anger and dislike directed at Luke was aimed at him instead.

Newman shouted, “He drove me into the f*****g fence!” Baldwin Jr. tried responding to this but was immediately countered by Newman again. He shouted, “Are you driving the car? Shut the f*ck up and go relax in the pit. Shut the f*ck up.

This tipped off the boiling point even for Baldwin and he too went ahead to shout expletives. “F*ck you,” he said, before being pushed by Newman. But before things could escalate, the rest of the team came and separated them. But Baldwin Jr did send off the 46-year-old with a warning–“Don’t try to touch him!”

NASCAR fans live for the drama, and any fight or controversy, and they want a bite of it. So when a former NASCAR racer got into a fight with a team owner, they couldn’t help but chime in the drama!

While some fans rallied behind Ryan Newman, others remained unconvinced. One supporter passionately exclaimed, “And this is why we need Ryan Newman back in NASCAR.” Notably, Newman retired from NASCAR after a crash and even though there are rumors of him returning, nothing has been confirmed.

While some users were rooting for him to be back, some outright showed dislike for him. One fan, highlighting his aggressive behavior, said, Newman being Newman. I ain’t mad he’s out of Cup tbh.”
