The public outlook sure has changed as far as Ryan Blaney is concerned. At the start of the 2023 Cup Series season, not a majority of the NASCAR faithful gave the Team Penske man a chance of winning the Cup Series championship. Now that he has proved everyone wrong, the 29-year-old is being considered the favorite to win one of the biggest motorsports events in the world.

Blaney found his form just at the right time last season. He was victorious in only 1 regular-season race, but it is during the playoffs that he showed just how good he is. The Team Penske star would want nothing more than to retain his championship, and the bookies have pegged him for a fabulous start.

The beginning of every single NASCAR Cup Series season is characterized by The Great America Race. The Daytona 500 is considered to be one of the biggest spectacles in motorsports. Drivers from across the country try their hand at winning the race. The honor of being the Daytona 500 winner is something that sticks for life and Ryan Blaney will be looking to do just that.

The bookies are in favor of Blaney, as he has been named the favorite to win the race with +900 odds. It will be a source of confidence for the 2023 Cup Series champion who will be looking to defend his crown next year. There couldn’t be anything better than a win to start the season in that respect.

The 29-year-old has a decent record at The Great American Race. He has started 9 Daytona 500s and managed to finish in the top 5 thrice and the top 10 five times. Blaney’s best result probably came in 2020 when he finished P2 with Team Penske. He will be looking to go that one step further and add yet another feather to his cap.

While the Team Penske star is the odds-on favorite to win the race, there are a lot of drivers who have good odds of winning the Daytona 500. Some of these names may come as a surprise to fans.
