NASCAR drivers may be fierce rivals on the race track, but they know where to draw the line. Away from the tarmac, many of them are good friends with each other. This is especially true for Bubba Wallace and reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney. Recently, Wallace attended an NBA game between the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz, which the former won.
The Knicks gave him a special shout out on their Twitter page, however Blaney was not too pleased. As it turned out, the Team Penske driver was also present at the game, but the Knicks seemingly snubbed him. All this was in spite of the fact that he was seated right next to Wallace. Naturally, Ryan Blaney called out the apparent disrespect towards a reigning NASCAR champion and called it ‘cold 💩‘.

According to the 23XI Racing star, an attempt was made to get both drivers in the picture. He revealed that they were told to sit closer so that both could be in the shot. Evidently, it was just a token effort because poor old Blaney was still cropped out of the photograph. At least both the 23XI Racing and Team Penske stars enjoyed the game and saw the Knicks triumph.

Of course, Blaney and Wallace must have seen the funny side of the whole incident. Additionally, there would have been thousands of fans who saw the two drivers together, and that should appease the champion. However, it does not make up for the fact that the New York Knicks blatantly snubbed him. They didn’t even post a photograph that either showed Blaney at the game or both Blaney and Wallace together.

Frankly, the #12 driver has a very difficult job on his hands when the 2024 season arrives. No driver has won consecutive titles since Jimmie Johnson from 2006 until 2010. In other words, it has been a good 14 years since the last back-to-back NASCAR Cup Series champion. On the bright side, Blaney is a talented driver and this season he will get his hands on a brand new and faster Ford Mustang.

Meanwhile, Bubba Wallace is coming off the back of his best NASCAR Cup campaigns. He reached the playoffs for the first time in his career and made it as far as the round of 12. When 2024 arrives, Wallace will be one of several Toyota drivers to get his hands on the new Camry, which also promises to be quicker. With the rapid rate at which he is improving, the only direction he can go is upward.
