Our story begins with Chris Buescher, the man with the #17 Ford, who started his day with optimism and ambition. He stormed through the ranks, carving his path towards glory. Stage points were within his grasp, and the crowd could feel the excitement building. But the cruel hand of fate! Just seven laps from the finish line, disaster struck in the form of a right-rear tire failure.
The FrontStretch team had the chance to catch up to Chris Buescher and delve into the fateful incident that marred his race day. When asked, “Fortunately, at the end of the day for Chris Buscher, a great string of finishes comes into the end with a flat tire in the hose laps of Kansas. What happened in that incident? Was there any warning?”
Chris replied, “No warning. We didn’t have any issues all day. […] Our stuff was fine. So yeah, nothing to give us any warning there. Wasn’t really that deep in the tire run. Not sure exactly what happened, but we’re not the only ones … just ruined our day.”
Now, let’s shift the gaze to the JGR veteran, Martin Truex Jr. He has been a force to be reckoned with throughout the season, but he had the worst possible fate in store at the Kansas Speedway. Let’s take a closer look at what happened with MTJ.
