It finally happened. Denny Hamlin finally won a race this season. Kansas was the 49th win of the veteran’s career which equaled him with Tony Stewart on the all-time list as he strengthened his case for a Hall of Fame worthy career.
Another thing worth noting is that it took Hamlin 12 races to go to the victory lane this year, something which happened only on one previous occasion in the last 5 years.
But one other thing which is worth pointing out about Hamlin’s most recent win, and it is certainly something many have pointed before, it is the way in which this win came.

Fans call out Denny Hamlin’s move on Kyle Larson as similar to Ross Chastain
After the win, Hamlin posted a picture of him celebrating in the victory lane at Kansas with the caption, “FG!! How are those brackets lookin?” This incited some reactions from his fans who were glad he finally got a win in 2023.
But there was a different section of fans who thought he didn’t pass Larson cleanly, some of which even compared him to Ross Chastain, which is funny because the Watermelon man gave his old pal a visit in the victory lane.
“U do realize u wrecked larson for that win? U hate ross but clearly drove like ross.” one fan wrote while another claimed, “Can’t win without screwing someone else. You are exactly who you accuse Ross of being”
“Learn how to pass someone clean for the win next time,” read one fan’s reaction while another’s went like, “I’ve seen you win good and bad today you stole it from a real driver.”
“Coulda raced him fair but chose to just take Larson out,” a fan commented on Hamlin’s post.
