But how exactly will “being himself” translate to the track? Chastain’s brand of authenticity isn’t just about folksy charm. It’s about audacious moves, fierce individuality, and a genuine love for racing. The basics of a superstar. However, every superstar has heavy ‘expectations’ to cater to. Nevertheless, the Trackhouse Racing driver had some very resonant statements to make.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s NASCAR radio channel, Chastain addressed the expectations of stepping into Harvick’s shoes. In his own words, “That’s what’s so good about Trackhouse and Busch Light is they’re just letting me be me. Like I’m not and I told them the first meeting ever sat down with… I said look I’m not Kevin Harvick, I’m not stepping into his shoes. I’m not looking to do that. I am going to learn from him.”

Chastain went on to emphasize the need to be himself, highlighting the support he receives from Trackhouse and Busch Light in allowing him to maintain his identity amidst the noise. stating, “I want to be me. And they were good with it, they accepted that. Justin [Marks] has accepted that as well, although at times it’s tough with all the noise you get sometimes with me. And so I feel like that I’ve got a brand and I’ve got other brands, other sponsors as well that they’ve all accepted and let me be me…”
