For the last two weeks, the weather has wreaked havoc on the tracks of NASCAR. The persistent rains have thrown a wrench into the works, upsetting the plans of the teams with their strategies. The rains had forced the delay of the race in Chicago. And the same has happened again.

As the rains intervened with the conducting of the race, NASCAR called off the race and declared William Byron as the winner of the Quaker State 400. While Byron added another victory feather to his hat, many drivers struggled to get a grip on the track, as the repaved tracks posed a challenge for the drivers.

But it seems that Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain had to face different obstacles that hindered his performance, as he revealed in the post-race interview.

Ross Chastain Vents His Displeasure Towards His Team Trackhouse Racing After a Disappointing Finish in Atlanta

The past two weeks have been the most memorable in terms of performance for Trackhouse Racing. With consecutive wins in the past two weeks, Trackhouse Racing has finally tasted victory, after almost a year of winless streak. And the cherry on the top being it was a debutant who had taken the car of Project 91 to the victory lane after putting up an impeccable performance.

The drivers from Trackhouse Racing in order to replicate the same feat had taken up their seats in high spirits. While Daniel Suarez ended the race on a high note by finishing 2nd, his teammate Ross Chastain had to deal with problems relating to the car.

In a post-race interview, Ross Chastain heaved his displeasure. Speaking to the media in availability, the driver was asked, “Talking about the aggression out there or how racing was the surface of the track.”

To this, Chastain exclaimed, “Slick clear. I haven’t ran a lap wide open yet and it’s a bummer because we had such great speed handling last year here in the car worldwide Express Chevy. This weekend we just have been off, so we are definitely lacking just grip not speed, just grip.”

“I am lifting and sliding and almost spun a couple of times by myself so we are back there further back than we wanted to be. The car got turned around in front of us they are up turn two and we tore the right front suspension off,” Chastain asserted.

Nevertheless, even after shutting down all the critics after a victory, Ross Chastain is still a boiling topic among the veterans and the insiders of NASCAR and was evident in ‘The Kenny Conversation.’ Speaking to his guest Brad Keselowski of RFK Racing, both the drivers seemed to shower light on the attitude that Chastain had exhibited earlier in the season.

The 2012 Cup Series champion expressed, “You put Ross Chastain in a Gen 5, Gen 6 car and he’s in the garage at lap 50, because you can’t touch people with those cars or you couldn’t hit them like they do now.” To this, even Kenny Wallace nodded his head in affirmation.

Keselowski also added, “Yeah well, he wouldn’t have been wrecked out, he’d wrecked himself out!”

While Keselowski’s words do hold water, given his experience in the world of stock car racing, it can’t be denied that Chastain does have the potency of winning a championship. Nevertheless, the outcome at Atlanta for Trackhouse, after winning two weeks in a row, is surely disappointing. With the next race in New Hampshire, it is to be seen how the two drivers fare.
