The NASCAR Series is halted because of the Olympics. The team that has made the most creative use of their break has to be Team Penske! Previously, the teams’ NASCAR drivers and IndyCar drivers were seen imagining how racing would be if it were an Olympic event. The racers of Team Penske had a long list of demands. The most bizarre request was made by IndyCar race, Josef Newgarden, who wants an ice track to race on in the Olympics.
Now they are back to entertain the fans. They had the challenge of stacking pennies and making the tallest tower possible. In this video, fans have made an interesting connection. With the shortest penny tower, we had Austin Cindric at 3 and 3 quarters. Coming in second last is Scott Mclaughlin with 4 inches. Ahead of him was not so interested, Will Power, whose score according to him is 4 and whatever. We are assuming whatever is more than Scott’s. There was a draw at P2 with a score of 4.5 inches between Ryan Blaney and Josef Newgarden. Inching him by a small margin and becoming the champion of stacking pennies is none other than Joey Logano with a penny tower of 4 and 3-quarters. The video entertained fans as it was intended. However, they also made a quirky connection of this with Corey LaJoie’s exit.

While others are on vacation, getting married, and making a mess out of pennies, Corey LaJoie got fired! LaJoie runs a podcast called ‘Stacking Pennies’ where he recently discussed his journey with Spire Motorsports and his recent exit. When talking about how he took the news; he said, “I assume everybody listens to the show saw the news um excited for the two we off break uh then I got fired so I got fired on Wednesday um they didn’t really give me a whole lot of reasons.” According to him, he went through all the emotions, mad as well as sad. In the end, he just felt thankful for everyone at Spire Motorsports who helped him on his journey. Even though he’s calm, fans are not letting him off the hook. Coincidently, Team Penske also decided to play a game called Stacking Pennies.
And fans were quick to react
Recently Spire Motorsports has announced a revamp of their team before the 2025 season. The team will not have LaJoie because of his poor performance with the team. In his 4 years with them, he’s not managed to get a single win. He’s only had 4 top 5 finishes. Currently, Lajoie is struggling to find a ride for 2025 and the fans are not missing out on any chance to throw a jibe at him. Making a connection to the Team Penske video, assuming that they are also taunting LaJoie, a fan wrote, “Damn everyone is dunking on Corey these days” A fan had a funny comment when he said, “Stacking coins LaJoie to the 2!” The fan is hinting that maybe Corey LaJoie should try IndyCar in Josef Newgarden’s #2 car.
Taking pot shots at his disappointing Cup Series career, where he’s not managed to get a single win. A fan wrote “You would think Corey LaJoie would be great at this. ” Another fan on the same lines said, “That explains why Lajoie’s paycheck was only 47 cents, it’s all he could stack.”

A fan felt bad for LaJoie getting trolled on social media. According to him it would have been simple for him in a pre-social media world. On these lines, he wrote, “Imagine how much easier it would have been for LaJoie only 15 years or so ago. No social media and commentary. Instead of the laughing stock he has so publicly become, he’d have been just another guy that raced for a while then disappeared. Instead his name and his pennies will live on in infamy for who knows how long.”
Correy LaJoie’s career hangs in the balance. Where will he end up in 2025? Only time will tell. Where do you think he will go? Are you excited about the series to resume? Let us know in the comments below.
