Stewart-Haas Racing driver Ryan Preece was lucky to survive a violent and fatal crash at Daytona last week. Unexpectedly, the sport lost a legend of a driver in Dale Earnhardt Sr at Daytona in 2001. While that was a massive shock for everyone, not many were able to handle the grief that came with it. However, the mood changed days later after Dale Sr’s untimely demise because of a certain event.

Just a couple of days after this tragic news, the Charlotte Coliseum hosted a sold-out concert. The event saw legendary musician Jimmy Buffett performing. As his loyal fanbase called Parottheads gathered for this concert, Buffett paid tribute to Dale Sr. He even dedicated the song “Take Another Road” to the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.

While it was a noble act from Buffett then, the world received tragic news involving the “Margaritaville” singer. His social media account announced the unfortunate news of his passing away. The announcement confirmed that the demise took place on the night of September 1st.

It is indeed heartbreaking news to lose a legendary icon like Jimmy Buffett. As per Forbes, he had a net worth close to $1 billion. The 76-year-old provided some memorable songs throughout his career. In fact, as of date, he has more #1 hits than Beyonce and Taylor Swift combined. In his tweet, he said, “My childhood on Lake Norman: Early mornings looking out the living room window at the fog blanketed across the water with “Come Monday” playing on the local station. RIP Jimmy.”

Former Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson joined Dale Jr to offer his condolence. In his tweet, he said, “My condolences to his family… such a legend.” Even NASCAR insider Brett Griffin added, “RIP. First concert I ever went to…. Here’s to dressing tropical, sipping on margaritas, and enjoying a cheeseburger in paradise. Fins up.”

Legendary singer Bon Jovi also offered his condolences as did Bill and Hillary Clinton. Hilary in this tweet said, “Fair winds and following seas, dear Jimmy.” While Bill recollected some fine memories through his tweet. He said, “Jimmy Buffett’s music brought happiness to millions of people. “I’ll always be grateful for his kindness, generosity, and great performances through the years, including at the White House in 2000. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and legion of devoted fans.” Meanwhile, Bon Jovi said, “Jimmy Sail on my good friend Luv u JBJ”.
