23XI Racing co-owners Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan share a lot in common. Apart from being titans of their respective sports, the pair are golfing fanatics and have also spearheaded the formation of a NASCAR team. In a recent episode of the popular talk show NASCAR Race Hub, Hamlin addressed the one aspect of life where he has been unable to match his co-owner: bearing a ring.

While Jordan owns six rings, signifying six NBA titles in his legendary career, the talk is about an engagement ring in Denny Hamlin’s case. On New Year’s Eve, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver announced his engagement with long-time partner Jordan Fish. Fish relayed the same on Instagram with the caption: “Rings- DH 0, Jordan 1.” The NASCAR Race Hub crew was discussing the same, as Hamlin admitted the two Jordans of his life were getting the upper hand.

Mike Joy is one of the most respected voices in NASCAR. Having anchored the inception of the Cup Series broadcast, his presence in the broadcast booth is an incredible sight for any NASCAR fan.

When Race Hub host Katelyn Vincie questioned Denny Hamlin about Jordan Fish’s caption, which intrigued the NASCAR community, it triggered a burst of laughs. Hoping to avail Mike Joy’s extraordinary narration over the punchline, Denny Hamlin said, “You know what’d have been perfect though? If we had the voice-over of Mike Joy saying, ‘15 years of trying, 15 years of frustration.“‘

Right after his response, the discussion diverted to the presence of two ring holders, both named Jordan in his life. While MJ is a big part of Denny Hamlin’s life on the track, Fish is his pillar of strength off of it. Surrendering to the statement, the 51-time Cup race winner stated, “I know I’m the only ringless one, I get it. I’m well aware, guys, I know.”

Denny Hamlin and Jordan Fish have been together since 2007. Sixteen years after the beginning of their relationship, Hamlin sealed the deal on New Year’s Eve and declared his love to the world. The couple are also parents to two young daughters, Molly and Taylor, and the family has grown gradually into a bunch of happy people. From the looks of it, Denny Hamlin is winning on and off the track.

Netflix and NASCAR’s recent collaboration, NASCAR: Full Speed, has given the fans a great understanding of the No.11 driver’s life away from the asphalt. It has taken a deeper look into his daily life, not just as a driver but as a father, a son, and a husband.

It is safe to say that Netflix might have chosen Denny Hamlin as the show’s main character. The 43-year-old hogged the limelight. His screen time is one of the critical indicators of that notion. However, that wasn’t detrimental to the show in any way. Considering how the fanbase perceives Hamlin, the story of his championship chase is interesting.

Apart from the annual dejection of losing the championship and frustration of not winning races, NASCAR: Full Speed shows Denny Hamlin’s journey, aspirations, and relationships with his loved ones. In one of the episodes, Denny’s father, Dennis Hamlin, revealed about a well-protected cigar given to him by Denny’s partner, Michael Jordan.

The instructions on the cigar case imply that the glass is only to be broken and smoked with Jordan when Denny Hamlin lands a Cup Series championship. Talking about championships, Netflix also provided an idea about Hamlin’s mindset even after losing multiple championships in his career. The depiction of his frustration after losing out on the championship race after Martinsville is one of the most impactful frames of the show.

Hamlin also revealed that having experienced his share of failure, he wants his daughters to succeed and create an identity themselves. Denny Hamlin has never been one to bask in someone else’s glory, and the Netflix documentary portrayed that in a great way.
