After a winless streak of 199 races since 2017, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finally broke the shackles by starting the 2023 season with an impressive win at the Daytona 500. The two-time Xfinity Series champ had a tough ride in the last few years. However, he finally secured a win in the second overtime after a significant comeback during the race. After securing his first Daytona 500 victory, Stenhouse Jr. recently acknowledged the heartwarming gesture from Joey Logano and Kyle Larson that melted his heart.
During a recent interview, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. gave an insight into what a Daytona 500 victory meant to him. He also talked about his unique fence-climbing celebration and how he had been spending his time since. Moreover, Fox’s Adam Alexander also pointed out the positive support Stenhouse Jr. received from his fellow drivers after the massive win.

During a recent interview with NASCAR on Fox, Adam Alexander revealed that several drivers had come to the victory lane to congratulate Ricky Stenhouse Junior. Moreover, Fox’s play-by-play announcer continued, “I hear the interview with Joey Logano who was second. And he said, Man, I hate to finish second. But congratulations to Ricky I’m happy for him.”
Alexander also suggested that Christopher Bell had a similar take on the #47 Chevy driver’s win at Daytona. Further, he asked Ricky Stenhouse Jr. how he felt about the ‘positive’ gesture by other NASCAR drivers.
In response, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. stated, “Yeah! It’s special. I was texting [ Ryan] Blaney today and told him I really appreciate him coming into victory lane.”

Moreover, the 35-year-old reckoned that he understood how tough it can be for a driver to head into victory lane and congratulate the winner. Stenhouse Jr. added, “But, you’re happy when your friends do and I feel like I have a lot of friends in our sport.”

Further, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. told that he was happy about the support from his fellow drivers while giving credit to Kyle Larson as well. The JTG Daugherty Racing driver added, “Obviously, my slingshot buddy, Kyle Larson. He pushed me to the lead there underneath the 22. And so for him to bring his family and them to come hang out in the victory lane with us was really special, and it meant a lot to me.”
