Earlier this week, Ricky Stenhouse Jr became a very happy man. Ahead of the Cup Series finale at the Phoenix Raceway, he and his partner went on a small hiking trip in Arizona. Apparently, this trip had a purpose, because at Cathedral Rock, Stenhouse Jr got down on one knee and popped the question.
Obviously touched by this romantic gesture, his partner Madyson Joye happily accepted the proposal. The happy couple even shared a toast to their future together. Needless to say, the driver and his new fiancee will be enjoying the brief respite before the Phoenix race.

This weekend though, the JTG Daugherty Racing driver will head into the race in a very good mood. Without a doubt, his engagement will be a massive morale booster. Whether it will translate into an inspired on-track performance, is anybody’s guess. Nevertheless, Ricky Stenhouse Jr will want to end the year on a high note.

What lies ahead for Ricky Stenhouse Jr?
To be honest, his future is secure, since he recently re-signed with the JTG Daugherty Racing team. Unfortunately, it came at the cost of Ryan Preece, since the outfit decided to downsize to one car for 2022. In any case, Stenhouse Jr has more than proven his worth on a variety of occasions in 2021. Even Preece has delivered some decent performances and will be hoping to stay on in the Cup scene with another team.

In fact, he has a best finish of second at the Bristol dirt race. Aside from that, he has had a handful of race finishes in the Top 20, with one Top 10 finish of sixth place at New Hampshire. Now, the 34-year-old is expected to compete with the outfit again in the 2022 season. However, he has to see off the current season, and it all starts with this final race of the 2021 calendar at Phoenix Raceway.
