On April 10, 2023, Cody Ware‘s racing life took a pit stop and a very lengthy one for that matter. NASCAR suspended the Rick Ware Racing driver after he got arrested, days after his ex-girlfriend slapped him with serious charges of assault.

However, as months passed, the Iredell County district attorney’s office gave its verdict, dropping all the charges imposed on Cody, and giving him a free pass. Now that the driver has no scars on his past, NASCAR has reinstated him to run for his team once again.

Cody had to wait for nearly a year to get himself reinstated in NASCAR. Sharing the reunion news with the community, renowned NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass took to X. Revealing that a week ago, on Thursday to be precise, Cody and his then-girlfriend were dropped from all the charges by the district attorney’s office.

Commenting on Cody’s return to the oval, Pockrass wrote, “Cody Ware reinstated by NASCAR. Prosecutors on Thursday dismissed charges (assault causing injury, strangulation) against Ware & dismissed charge (simple assault) against his then-girlfriend from April incident (she was charged in Sept.)”

According to FoxSports, upon getting the news of being dropped from the assault charges and revocation of suspension from NASCAR, Cody candidly expressed himself and said, “I’ve maintained my innocence from the very beginning, even as there was a rush to judgment by others.”

He then disclosed that those eight months were a real challenge for him and said, “I’m glad this entire matter is behind me because it’s been an incredibly difficult eight months. With all of the allegations being dismissed, I’m thankful to have my life back.”
