During the pre-race presser at Indianapolis, a reporter asked Rick Hendrick why he wanted to get involved in Indianapolis 500 as he has always been a stock-car person. Rick Hendrick took the question in good humor and exclaimed that he had run his cars in Daytona and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, so probably he was checking off his bucket list. Kyle Larson and Gavin Ward smiled at the joke along with the owner of the HMS.

Kyle Larson is expected to run both Coca-Cola 600 and Indy 500 on the same day in 2024, so it is going to be a blast for Hendrick Motorsports. Mr. H continued, “I’m kind of getting my bucket full here. I never dreamed I’d go to Daytona in the stock car and so we’re coming up on 40 years next year and this is such an unbelievable place. That and Charlotte, doing the 600 in this race…it’s gonna be unbelievable.”

“We all talked about it. Kyle wanted to do it and we’re just very fortunate that Arrow McLaren was able to put it together for us,” he added.

However, what about his plans with the Indy car colored in white, orange, and blue? Rick Hendrick got excited as he said, “I can’t wait to have that car in the museum.”

In a press conference earlier this year, Kyle Larson revealed his feelings about his new venture of driving an IndyCar. It is going to be a new experience for him and he sounded confident and a little nervous at the same time.

He admitted that it had been a dream of his for a while, but he was just waiting for the right time. And when Hendrick Motorsports, along with Jeff Gordon, supported him on the same, Larson found himself on cloud nine. His recent tweet after the unveiling of his car clearly depicts his happiness. However, he was excited about this opportunity for a very special reason.

In the interview, Larson said, “Jeff (Gordon) told me that I get to live out a dream of his, so that’s really special also to me.”

Moreover, Indianapolis feels like a home to the Chevy sensation. He has lived in the vicinity for a couple of years and hence, feels at home there.

“I’ve obviously come out here in a stock car. I lived in the area for a couple years, so this place for a long time felt like a second home to me…” he added with a smile of contentment on his face.
