As a NASCAR Xfinity team owner, Dale Earnhardt is hoping to promote his team even further. One person who can help make that happen is Hendrick Motorsports owner, Rick Hendrick. This is majorly because he is a part owner of JRM, so he is also invested in the idea of expanding to the Cup arena.
However, there is some bad news for Hendrick, if this does come to pass. As it turns out, he will most likely be forced to give up his ownership stake. In spite of this, he is perfectly willing to step away if he wants to see the organization make it to the Cup arena.

Hendrick said, “I think long-term they want to be owners in the Cup Series, and I’ll support them any way I can. We’ll have an alliance with them, but I’ll have to divest my interest there, and that’s okay because I think it’s served its purpose in Xfinity races. If they move up into Cup, then I’m ready to step out and help out any way I can. Just because of their name and heritage. I believe that it would be good for the sport to have an Earnhardt owner in the Cup Series.”
Of course, Dale Jr would love to eventually help his team graduate to the Cup Series. He even has a talented pool of drivers to field in his cars. However, Junior and his sister Kelley have admitted that it is not so easy to establish a team in the Cup Series. Firstly, there is a problem with finances, as it is an expensive business. In addition to that, they will also have to buy a Cup charter in order to field a car for their campaign to kick off.
